The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies announces the extension of the submission deadline for its  Arab Graduate Student Conference, to be held from March 24-26, 2018 in Doha, Qatar.  Prospective participants will now be given until 25 October, 2017, to submit proposals for the meeting. This 10-day extension is intended to meet the high level of interest in the conference among our target audience.  Please read below for further details.

The meeting will provide Arab doctoral students in the social sciences and humanities based at Western universities an open space to present papers rooted in their graduate studies. This novel conference will give the participants  the chance to benefit from discussions with their peers and with established Arab academics. By holding the meeting in an Arab country, the conference will give the participants an opportunity to better acquaint themselves with the Arab research agenda as well as to create collegial, professional networks within the Arab region. Participants will also gain the opportunity to have their work published in Arabic, through one of the ACRPS’ publication channels.

Eligible scholars interested in applying are informed of the following:

1)    Prospective participants should fill out the application form (this form is a Microsoft Word file which your browser should download automatically). This should be accompanied by a current CV/Resume and an abstract/research outline of the work the applicant intends to present (no more than 500 words in length).

2)    The Academic Committee will accept research proposals in either Arabic or English up to October 25, 2017 (extended deadline). Please send all relevant materials to: arabdoct.conf@dohainstitute.edu.qa

3)    The Academic Committee will communicate directly with those applicants whose proposals have been accepted for participation in the conference.

4)    Authors of accepted proposals will be notified of the date to submit the complete drafts of papers, between 5,000 and 8,500 words in length. Submitted drafts must meet the guidelines determined by the ACRPS.
