The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) held its first conference on historical studies “The Role of Oral History: Concepts, Methods, and Research in the Arab World” in Beirut in 2014, followed by a second conference “The First World War, 100 Years On: Perspectives from the Arab World” in 2015. Given the success of both events, and ACRPS’s commitment to host an annual conference on historical studies that encourages coordination between Arab historians and fosters historical knowledge in the region, the third annual conference will address “Arab History and Historiography: How was Arab history written, and how is it being written today”. The event will be hosted in Beirut from April 22-24, 2016.
