The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies is organizing a two-day symposium on "Syria between options, interests and possibilities of change" on July 30 and 31, 2011 in Doha, Qatar. The symposium will be held at the Doha Sheraton Hotel, Al-Rayyan Hall and will be attended by a select group of Syrian and Arab scholars and researchers.
The conference will discuss political developments and protest movements in Syria, as well as it will explore the current situation and the potential prospects from various perspectives.
The participants will discuss an array of themes relating to Syria. The symposium will focus on four main themes "The Nature of the Social Forces Taking Part in the Popular Movement", "The Nature of the Syrian Regime and its Predisposition to Reform and Change", "The Political Opposition's Role" and "The Possibilities of Change and International Forces."
The symposium will be closed with a final roundtable discussion aiming at drawing conclusions and potential prospects related to the unfolding events in Syria.
