Publishing ethics

1. The Arab Center adheres to the principles of confidentiality and objectivity during the review process for both the researcher and the reviewer. Each submitted paper or study shall be referred to accredited readers with expertise and specialisation in the research topic, to be evaluated according to specific guidelines. In the event that the reviewers disagree over a paper or study, the Center refers the research to a third expert.

2. The Arab Center depends on reliable, experienced reviewers who are specialists in their disciplines.

3. The Arab Center adopts an internal organisational structure that clearly defines the duties and responsibilities of the editorial board.

4. Editors and reviewers may not discuss the paper with anyone else, except the editor-in-chief or their deputy, including the author. Any unique information or opinions obtained through reading the research is to be kept confidential, and may not be used for personal endeavours.

5. In light of the reviewers’ reports, the Arab Center provides researchers with stylistic and structural support as well as fact checking as necessary to improve research.

6. The Arab Center will inform the researcher if their research has been approved for publication, either without any modifications or on the condition that certain revisions be made according to reviewers' reports. If the decision has been made not to publish the paper, an explanation of the reasons for the decision will be provided.

7. The Arab Center is committed to maintaining the high quality of the investigative, editorial, typographical, and electronic services it provides.

8. The Center adheres to the principle of non-discrimination. Editors and reviewers shall evaluate the research material according to their intellectual content. They will not discriminate on the basis of the race, sex, religious beliefs, or political opinions of the author, nor will their work be compromised by any other form of discrimination. The editors and reviewers must adhere to the principles of intellectual scholarship and the methods and language used in the presentation, discussion and analysis of ideas, trends and topics.

9. There must be no conflict of interest between the editors and the researcher, whether because of a competitive or cooperative relationship or due to other relationships or links with any author, company, or research institution.

10. The Arab Center ensures that editorial staff or reviewers do not use unpublished material in their own research.
11. The Arab Center enjoys intellectual property rights for articles published in its academic journals and on its website, which may not be reproduced in whole or in part, whether in Arabic or translated into any other language, without express written permission from the Arab Center.

12. In publishing translated articles, the Arab Center is committed to obtaining full permission from foreign journals and publishers and to the observance of intellectual property rights.

13. Open access: The Arab Center is committed to free and open access, and it exempts researchers and authors from all publishing fees.
