Following the success of the previous four rounds, the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Institute for Palestine Studies are welcoming research proposals for the fifth Annual Palestine Forum. The fifth round will be held in late January 2027.
The quality of the papers presented, along with extensive participation and interaction from attendees from around the world in earlier rounds, has distinguished the Forum as a leading academic venue for research on Palestine. More than 300 peer-reviewed papers have been selected out of over 1900 submissions and presented in themed sessions covering a wide selection of topics related to various aspects of the genocidal war on Gaza and the Palestine question more generally. Papers presented in the fourth round addressed a wide range of topics related to the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, as well as the Western media bias in covering the war. Other papers examined settler colonialism and apartheid in Palestine, the limits of international law in achieving justice for Palestine, Israel’s security doctrine and regional expansion policies, as well as critical perspectives on the production of Western knowledge on Palestine. Additional contributions examined prevailing research trends in Palestine Studies and the impact of two years of genocide on education, in addition to addressing central issues related to the Palestinian question, including settlement expansion, refugees, Jerusalem, and other key topics relevant to the evolving dynamics of the Palestinian cause.
Building on this annual tradition, the fifth round seeks to create an interactive academic space for presenting new and innovative approaches and exchanging ideas related to the study of Palestine. It provides an opportunity for researchers who are already working on papers to present and discuss their work, and to learn about and benefit from new research trends in Palestine Studies.
