The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, in cooperation with the University of Jordan and the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center, is devoting its eighth annual Historical Studies Conference, May 29 and 30, 2021 in Amman, Jordan, to the topic: “A Hundred Years of Jordan: Emergence, National Narrative and State Evolution”.
In convening this conference the Arab Center hopes to re-examine the historic developments of the founding years of the modern Arab Mashreq, and to critically review and understand the processes of Jordan’s emergence and development – and its continuing existence within a troubled region amid neighbors of greater political, geographical and demographic weight.
Proposed papers for this conference can now be submitted to the Conference Committee. Proposals should be about 700 words and should be accompanied by an up-to-date CV in Arabic or English. They should clearly state the research problem; issues to be investigated; hypotheses, methodologies and theoretical frameworks to be employed; the value or new knowledge that the proposal is expected to add in terms of handling of, and approaches to the subject(s); listing of basic references to be used. Please use the research proposal and participation form attached
