Doha, Qatar – April 24, 2024 – The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, in partnership with the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait, will host a conference titled "Institutions and Development in Arab Countries: Challenges and Opportunities." The conference will commence on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Arab Center's headquarters in Doha.

This conference will feature 37 Arab researchers presenting 31 scholarly papers. Discussions will explore critical issues relevant to public administration and development in the Arab world, including institutional reform and enhancing government performance; sustainable economic development strategies; innovation, technology, and their role in development; strengthening partnerships between the state and civil society; the roles of the private sector and non-governmental organizations in development and urban development and the right to the city.

The call for papers, issued in the summer of 2023, garnered over 500 proposals. After a rigorous selection process, the conference committee chose 31 papers for presentation.

The conference will span three days, from April 28 - 30, 2024, and will be held in Auditorium (2) of the Cultural Building at the Arab Center's Doha headquarters. Sessions will also be live-streamed on the Arab Center's social media platforms.

The public, specialists, and all interested parties are invited to attend.
