The Tunis office of the Arab Center was established in July, 2014. Its activities contribute to the overall research agenda of the Arab Center. It focuses on producing research in the political and social sciences and issues related to humanitarian issues and relevant to the Maghreb region as well as the general dissemination of academic knowledge in the Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Science.
The Tunis office also has a particular focus on documenting the democratic transition within its host country. The Center's calendar of scholarly events also contributes to the cultural life of the Tunisian capital, with a lively roster of literary evenings and art exhibitions. It also makes an effort to offer high quality training seminars to young researchers in the social sciences and humanities.
