Despite constructive and relentless mediation efforts by the emir of Kuwait, supported by the United States, the GCC crisis has reached a stalemate. No diplomatic solution appears on the political horizon now. The Saudi-led bloc remains adamant that Qatar must acquiesce to its 13 demands before engaging in any talks with Doha.
