“Wajih Kawtharani: the Historian of Transformations” is the title of a special ceremony scheduled to take place on Saturday, 21 June at the university’s campus in Baabda. Dr. Kawtharani is one of a series of august Lebanese intellectuals who have been recognized by the university in a special annual ceremony.  Previous recipients of the prize include Bishop George Khader; linguist Ahmad Beydoun; and writer Khalil Sarkis. Dr. Kawtharani, the Academic Head of the ACRPS’ Beirut Office, is being recognized for his contributions to the discipline of historiography.

Proceedings will begin with an introduction by University President Father Germanos Germanos, and will include a commemorative book dedicated to Dr. Kawtharani’s work and a screening of a documentary on his life.
