The Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CEARC)​​​ was established in Madrid in 2025 as an independent research institution seeking to enhance understanding of the political, social and economic conditions of the contemporary Arab region among Spanish-speakers, particularly in Europe and Latin America.

CEARC seeks to build bridges between Spanish- and Arabic-speaking academic communities, and support rigorous scholarly output on Spanish-Arab relations, European–Arab relations more broadly, and relations between Arab and Latin American countries. CEARC also aspires to provide an open space for dialogue, knowledge production, and academic exchange, grounded in universal values such as the defence of human rights, international law, equality, and good governance. The Center produces and publishes analyses, reports, and studies of a social, political, economic, strategic, and cultural nature, in addition to organizing events that bring together academics, analysts, social and political actors, media representatives, and young scholars.
