Youth and Democratic Transition in the Arab Countries

The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies has published Youth and Democratic Transition in the Arab Countries edited by Abdelfattah Mady and Abdou Moussa. It includes selected research from the conference "Arab Youth, the Generational Shift and Democratic Transition" held by the ACRPS between 22 and 24 September 2017 in Tunisia.  The theme of the conference was decided to acknowledge the youth's role as the main actor behind the current development of Arab societies, the driving force behind democratic transition.

This research brings together three areas of theoretical and applied interest in the field of political science in particular, and in social sciences and humanities in general: youth, democracy and revolutions. It also focuses on examining the dynamics of the link between democracy and the empowerment of new generations, through work that ranges across several research fields, including history, sociology, demography, ethnography and cultural analysis, as well as political science.
