The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies is delighted to invite interested observers to the press conference scheduled to announce the main results of the Eighth Arab Opinion Index on Tuesday, 3 January 2023 at 11:00am AST (8:00 am GMT), at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha.

The Arab Opinion Index 2022 continues the work of seven previous opinion polls, whereby the Arab Center has conducted periodic surveys of Arab public opinion, which provides invaluable data on their opinions of the main issues facing their societies. The index offers a unique opportunity to monitor changes in Arab public opinion since the first Arab index in 2011.

The Arab Opinion Index is thus an unparalleled open data source for academics, researchers, decision-makers, or media professionals, among others to reference and study the developments of Arab public opinion.

The 2022 poll conducted interviews with a representative sample that included 33,300 respondents from over 14 Arab countries, namely: Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Kuwait, and Qatar. The Index clocked in 72,362 hours of work by more than 900 researchers. The survey is thus the largest of its kind to be carried out in the Arab region in terms of sample size, the number of countries in which it is carried out, the scale of variables considered, and the volume of data collected.

The survey provides important data on Arab public opinion's attitudes towards economic, social and political issues related to the life of the Arab citizen, including public opinion's attitudes towards issues of democracy and citizenship values, equality and civil and political participation. This data includes citizens' assessment of their general conditions, the general conditions of their countries, as well as their assessment of the official institutions in their countries, and the extent of their trust in them. It will also present the positions of citizens in the Arab region on the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the extent of change in these positions, as well as their assessment of the policies of international and regional powers in the region.

The survey provides important data about Arab public opinion on economic, social, and political issues related to the life of Arab citizens, including democracy, citizenship, equality, and civil and political participation. This data includes citizen assessments of their living conditions, the conditions of their countries, as well as of the official institutions in their countries. It also reveals Arab public opinion on the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, the extent of changes in these attitudes, as well as their assessment of the international and regional powers’ policies in the region.
