Issue 10 of AlMuntaqa Now AvailableThe ACRPS and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have published Issue 10 (April/May 2022) of its peer-reviewed journal AlMuntaqa, dedicated to Humanities and Social Sciences, and published in English. The issue includes the following studies: “The Arab State: A Historical Sociology Approach” by Adham Saouli and Raymond Hinnebusch; “Global South Studies on Civil Society: An Arab Contribution” by Mohammed Hemchi; “Algeria: Democratisation in the Context of Economic Failure (1989-1999)” by Nouri Dris; “Islamophobia, Antisemitism, Zionism, Settler Colonialism” by Lorenzo Veracini; and “The Forced Displacement of Ethnic and Religious Minorities in Disputed Areas in Iraq: A Case Study of the Post-2014 Yazidi Minority” by Majid Hassan Ali.

The issue also contains two analyses of the Arab Opinion Index: “Arab Public Opinion on Political Systems: A Comparative Study Using Principal Component Analysis” by Mohamed Ourya and Hicham Raïq; and “Arab Public Opinion and Government Performance in Providing Basic Services” by the Public Opinion Polling Unit in the Arab Center. One book review is also included by Mouldi Lahmar of Azmi Bishara’s Understanding Revolutions: Opening Acts in Tunisia.
