The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies will convene the Sixth Annual Gulf Studies Forum from 7-8 December 2019 at its Doha premises.

This year, the Forum addresses Public Policymaking in the Gulf States (domestic issues track) and Threats to the Gulf States in the Regional and International Environment (international relations track). The first track focuses on topics related to economic diversification and labour policies in the Gulf States, energy and climate change policies, education and higher education policies, and the challenges of public policy making in the Gulf States, among others. The second track looks at security in the Gulf and the response of the Gulf states to security challenges, US-Iranian tension, energy security and so forth.

These topics are covered in 41 papers distributed over 12 sessions. In addition to a public lecture by Abdulaziz Nasser al-Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank. A number of Arab and foreign researchers will participate in the forum, including Khalid Rashid Al-Khater, Abdullah Al-Ghailani, Kadhim Niama, Kristian Ulrichsen, Abdullah Al-Shayeji, Yacoub Al-Kandari, Malak Al-Rasheed, Shareefa Abdullah Al-Adwani, Dhafer Al-Ajmi, Noof Al-Dosari, Radwan Termanini, Mohammed Al-Misfer, Yousuf Hamad Al-Balushi, Reem Ali Al-Ansari and others.
