The ACRPS and the Doha Institute are proud to announce that the first issue of Hikama, a peer-reviewed academic journal (background paper here) dedicated to public administration and public policy, will be released in September 2020. Hikama is the sixth academic journal to be published by the ACRPS.Hikama is a biannual journal targeted at experts in the academic and research community as well as all parties interested in governance, the making and implementation of policy, and public administration, whether civil servants or fourth sector employees. The journal is edited by a panel of academics and researchers from the ACRPS and Doha Institute, including Abdel-Fattah Mady (Editor in chief), Marwa Farag and Moosa Elayah (Managing Editors), and Rushdi al-Faouri (Editorial Secretary), alongside several other highly qualified academics. It is overseen by an advisory committee made up of Arab academics knowledgeable in this field.Hikama hopes to be an outlet for balanced academic discussion. It will include specialized studies, reports and policy papers as well as critical reviews of relevant recent publications and translated studies of theoretical or specific importance to the field. All materials published in Hikama are subject to the ACRPS’s publishing and ethical guidelines. The first issue will include both theoretical and applied studies of social and economic policies pursued by particular Arab governments and the role of civil society in public policy. It will also feature pieces on the policies deployed to confront COVID-19, as well as policy papers, translated studies and book reviews.Anyone interested in submitting their own studies for publication can contact the editorial committee at the following address: hikama@dohainstitute.org
