The ACRPS is holding a symposium titled “The War on Gaza: Palestinian Defiance and Resistance against Orchestrated Genocide and Expulsion”, to address the ongoing economic, humanitarian, and political situation in the Gaza strip.

Gaza is currently being subjected to blanket bombing by the Israeli military that continues to defy international law in its retaliation to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The surprise offensive was carried out by the Hamas military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades on 7 October 2023, to which Israeli responded by targeting the civilian residents of Gaza through bombardment across land air and sea. So far more than 2750 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, most of whom are women and children and UNRWA estimates that one million people were forced to flee their homes. The health sector has collapsed as an imminent humanitarian catastrophe looms over in the Strip. The symposium will consequently attempt to understand the likely trajectory of the War, the impending consequences, and the positions of Western countries, especially the US, regarding the actions of the Resistance and the Occupation.

The symposium will be held on Tuesday, 17 October 2023, at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, Cultural Building, Auditorium (2) at 12:30 Doha time, 9:30 GMT.

* Simultaneous translation into English will be available throughout and the symposium will be livestreamed on ACRPS social media.
