The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies will hold an academic conference on the rapid rise to power of the group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant on October 18 and 19 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha, Qatar. A select group of high-profile scholars and experts will congregate to discuss the impact of the group's ascendancy and consequent American military involvement, on regional and global geopolitics, and its interrelatedness with the Arab Spring.
