A full eighteen years after the Oslo Agreement, and while the Palestinian Authority looks to be recognized as a full state by the United Nations, the ACRPS will be holding a conference on September 10, 2011, under the title: "The Palestinian September: Between the Path to Oslo and the Return to International Bodies". The conference will examine the value of the move to be recognized at the United Nations, and the legal and political consequences of such a step. A number of noted scholars who specialize in Palestinian affairs will attend the two sessions of the conference, each of which will focus on the following:

  • The legal significance of resorting to the United Nations, and Arab and wider global reactions to this.
  • Political Ramifications: From bi-lateral negotiations to international rulings. What changes?
