Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will address the 2017 Gulf Studies Forum on Sunday, 3 December, 2017. Sheikh Mohammed will present a keynote lecture titled "The Gulf Crisis in Regional Context".

The lecture is one of the highlights of the 2017 Gulf Studies Forum, the fourth in a series of annual conferences hosted by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies devoted to studying the states and societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council and their international relations. This year's meeting will be devoted to studying the implications of the latest crisis in intra-GCC relations, dated to June of this year when three Gulf states announced a blockade on Qatar.

In addition to the keynote lectures, the 2017 Gulf Studies Forum will bring together a large number of scholars, journalists and policy makers from across the Arabian Peninsula and beyond into panels held in two parallel streams. While the first will be stream will be devoted to the fixed theme of the international relations of the Gulf states, the second will be given over to studying the media.

Previous editions of the Gulf Studies Forum have examined educational issues in the Gulf and economic diversification. The proceedings of two of these are now available in book form through the ACRPS electronic bookstore. See the links (in Arabic) below:
