In response to regional and international precautionary measures and travel restrictions amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and in the interests of public safety, the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies has decided to postpone the Eighth Annual Historical Studies Conference “A Hundred Years of Jordan: Emergence, National Narrative and State Evolution” that had originally been scheduled 29-30 May 2021 in Amman until further notice.

The conference, in cooperation and coordination with the University of Jordan and the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center, is part of the Arab Center’s endeavor to focus attention on the founding period of the modern Arab Mashreq’s history during the first quarter of the twentieth century. In this instance the spotlight is on the formation of contemporary Jordan: how it has survived and thrived, how its institutions were built, and how its elites and parties were involved in these processes.
