The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have published the 66th issue of the bimonthly peer-reviewed political science and international relations journal, Siyasat Arabiya.

This issue features six studies from a special issue on Egypt's political regime transformations since 2013. The articles include an introduction by the guest editors, Robert Springborg and Abdel-Fattah Mady, in addition to articles: “In Search of Legitimacy” by Bruce Rutherford; “Patriotism Without Citizenship: Non-electoral Legitimacy of the Post-July 2013 Egyptian Regime” by Mohammad Affan; “The New Republic: Old Visions, Unfulfilled Promises” by Emad El-Din Shahin and Abdelrahman Mohamed; “Civil-military Relations in Egypt and the Regime's Survival Strategies” by Abdel-Fattah Mady; “The Role of the Police in Egyptian's Counter-revolution” by Hossam el-Hamalawy; and “Economic Causes, Consequences, and Prospects of Sisi's New Egypt” by Robert Springborg.

The issue also contains the documentation of Milestones in Democratic Transition in the Arab World and Palestine over two months, 1/11-31/12/2023, along with select Documents of Democratic Transition in the Arab World. Finally, Yasmine Lahnin reviews Chinese Strategy towards the Arab Countries: Goals and Outcomes by Anas Khaled Al-Nasar.
